- Understand how to start a good presentation using the I.N.T.R.O. Pneumonic

Training Course Methods
- A variety of training methods are used, including group discussion, syndicate work
and ‘skill practice’. Participants complete a practice presentation (a 10 minute
business presentation of their choosing) during the day, receiving detailed feedback
on their strengths and development areas.
- A feature of the presentation skills training course is the use of a Knowledge/Skill
Checklist - a list of the knowledge and skills being developed on the course. Participants
rate themselves before and after the training course, to establish the extent to
which they have benefited from the course. This also gives the participant, and their
line manager, further analysis of their strengths, highlighting any further development
needs.
- Delegates will be supplied with full support documentation, supplied in spiral bound
format.
- A mini exhibition of interpersonal skill books, additional handouts and ‘hints and
tips’ sheets will be provided in the training room, for delegates to visit during
‘down-time’ e.g. at breaks; finishing an exercise before others.
- Prior to delivery of the presentation skills training course, we would host a telephone
meeting with you to establish the nature of the delegate’s roles, their strengths
and development areas and any areas of the course you would like us to emphasise.

PRESENTATION SKILLS
Delivering a presentation has been rated as the thing business people most dread.
In a survey, people placed death as number 7 on the list! For many people, presentations
are a daunting prospect - sleep is lost, nails are bitten to the quick and stomachs
feel that they have been through 5 rounds with Mohammed Ali.
However, it doesn’t need to be that way. This interactive course is specifically
designed to build confidence by providing participants with the knowledge and skills
to effectively plan and deliver professional presentations. We cover core areas including
understanding the audience; planning the structure; using visual aids and body language
to reinforce the message; controlling nerves and effective voice control to maximise
presentation effectiveness.
A feature of the course is an opportunity to hone and practice the skills taught
through a practice presentation in the afternoon. Delegates benefit from detailed
feedback on their technique from trainer and other delegates. Video taping of each
presentation for future playback/ analysis is available.
