Training Course Overview:
- The aim of the performance management training course is for participants to develop
the skills and knowledge required to effectively performance manage staff using easy-to-remember
tools and processes.
- A variety of training methods are used on the training course, including formal input,
syndicate and group discussion, exercises, demonstrations and role play.
- A feature of the training course is the use of a Knowledge/Skill Checklist - a list
of the knowledge and skills being developed. The participant self-rates at the start
and finish of the day, to establish the extent to which they have benefited from
the training course. This also gives them, and their line manager, further analysis
of their strengths, highlighting any further development needs.
- Delegates will be supplied with full support documentation, supplied in spiral bound
format.
- A mini exhibition of interpersonal skill books, additional handouts and ‘hints and
tips’ sheets will be provided in the training room, for delegates to visit during
‘down-time’ e.g. at breaks.
- Prior to delivery of the performance management training course, we host a telephone
meeting with you to establish the nature of the delegate’s roles, their strengths
and development areas and any areas of the course you would like us to emphasise.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Anyone who has responsibility for the performance of others are guardians of their
‘skill’ and ‘will’. This course gives a good understanding of, and skill development
in, the areas required to enhance staff performance. The course starts by understanding
a performance management strategy (the skill-will grid). It then converts strategy
to practice by looking at the practical ways we can use to close performance gaps.
The course develops into the key day-to-day skills required to maximise performance
ending with a detailed look at the performance counselling meeting. This is an informal,
effective tool that helps to enhance individual performance, be it attendance, lateness
or deficiency in job standards. In one company, the performance counselling approach
improved overall job performance and reduced the number of disciplinary interviews
by 30%!
ABC Training Solutions provides cost effective training courses in leadership and
supervisory skills at your premises. We work both uk-wide and locally in West Midlands,
