


Training Course Overview:
- A variety of training methods are used on the workshop including formal input, group
discussion, self reflection and self-diagnostic questionnaire.
- The Trainer’s approach is empathetic, informal, business focused and facilitative.
- A mini exhibition of interpersonal skill books and specimen c.v. layouts will be
provided in the training room, for delegates to view during the day
- Delegates will be supplied with full support documentation, supplied in spiral bound
format.
- The workshops will be evaluated via a feedback form, which is completed by delegates
at the end of the workshop.
About the Trainer
Bryan Edwards, Founder of ABC Training Solutions Ltd, has over 20 years experience
of interpersonal and managerial skills training in commercial and non-commercial
organisations. Bryan is a Graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development. Bryan personally delivers all the training.
Bryan travels extensively across the U.K. to deliver training, as well as delivering
in local areas such as Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Wales and the
West Midlands.
Costs
Typically £570 per day for up to 4 delegates plus VAT and expenses (travel plus possible
(budget) accommodation, depending on location). Costs exclude any venue costs (hire
of rooms / catering) or equipment (e.g. Powerpoint projector).

The course focuses on:

- Building confidence in being interviewed for vacant positions

Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Wales. We also design and market
a range of course material for trainers and ebooks for individuals.
Duration: 1 day, typically 9.30am to 4.45pm but can be flexible to fit into shift
patterns of staff.
Target Audience: Any staff member faced with their job being made redundant
Course Content:
At the end of the 1 day C.V. Preparation & Interview Techniques workshop, delegates
will be able to: -
- Understand the purpose and format of the curriculum vitae in securing new employment
- Know the key features of the effective c.v.
- Write an eye catching profile at the head of the c.v.
- Sell themselves effectively on paper
- Write action-based, quantifiable job responsibilities
- Appreciate a range of effective c.v. layouts
- Examine their current c.v. and make amendments/ improvements to produce the most
eye-catching, effective c.v. to prospective employers
- Design a good quality covering letter/ email
- Understand the strategy of the recruitment interview
- Prepare effectively for the interview
- Define their strengths and development areas in aspects of typical job competencies
such as internal customer service, communication skills and effective leadership
(if seeking team leader/ manager type positions)
- Know the importance of first impressions
- Understand behavioural interviewing and how to prepare for this technique
- Answer interview questions in the most effective way
- Appreciate the importance of body language in interviews
- Display positive body language during the interview
- Describe various tips and tactics to contribute to ‘making an impression’, during
the interview
- Demonstrate rapport building skills with the Interviewer
Options: This course could be extended to a second day (possibly a few weeks after
day 1) to provide detailed critiquing of delegates’ final c.v. s and provide delegates
with the opportunity to undergo mock interviews.
