Product consists of a set of trainer notes, diagnostic tool and debrief to introduce the main aspects of behaviour that contributes to excellence in leadership.  It gives visibility of the main skills and qualities of leadership to managers and supervisors at all levels and helps them analyse own skill sets. The product is based on many years of observing managers and supervisors at work and incorporates approaches from leadership experts Professor John Adair (action centred leadership) and Jack Welch (ex-C.E.O. General Electric).

What does it cover?

Courseware consists of comprehensive course notes in MS Word including an 18-point diagnostic questionnaire.

The bite sized training starts with a discussion around the meaning of the words 'leader' and 'manager', using world leaders as models to discuss their approaches. The course discusses how the actions and behaviours of famous leaders translates into supervisors and managers within organisations. The leadership diagnostic questionnaire is then introduced and delegates self-rate on a 1-6 rating scale over 18 different aspects of their leadership qualities and behaviours. This ranges from their level of emotional resilience to ride the 'stresses and strains' of daily managerial life to their ability to build rapport with every member of the team, irrespective of age, background or motivation.

The course then asks delegates to share their results with training group members who know them best to reflect on their skill sets. Finally delegates are encouraged to formalise what they have learnt and capture thoughts on the supplied action planning form.

The session is very reflective and participative of delegates who would typically be from all levels of supervisors and managers.

7 pages of comprehensive trainer notes together with comprehensive 18 -point diagnostic questionnaire supplied in MS Word. A Copyright Waiver Licence is included in the price, so that course material may be adapted to suit your own / organisational needs.

Duration

Allow up to one and a half hours if used as a succinct training session. Alternatively, the questionnaire can be used as  a ‘stand alone’ assessment and performance management tool (e.g. in a performance review meeting).
